Upscale Decoration Hacks for Affordable Prices
An evening full of family, warmth, and gathering became one of the best highlights of the year after we decor-hacked our Thanksgiving event. To create this delightful display, we bargain-hunted by using a combination of our favorite arts and crafts stores along with the natural elements. Here are some great approaches to your next holiday dinner:
Browse Before You Buy
Event planning is hard work because you have to know where to source all the best decorations and be thrifty about it. We had a long list of stores that we visited, which include Pottery Barn Outlet, Home Goods, Target, Walmart, and yes, Dollar Tree! Don’t be too shy to browse dollar stores, you might be pleasantly surprised by the items you can incorporate. Better yet, check clearance sections always. The beautiful blue pumpkin fixtures were on sale!
Use What Momma Nature Gave You
The beautiful bright flashes of orange, reds, yellows, and rusty browns all came from nature. We took these leaves from trees changing color due to fall and pine cones that had dropped on the ground. These natural elements were combined with realistic foliage that was part of the theme. You can’t tell real from fake, because all of it worked together synergetically.
Mix and Match
Don’t go to one store and buy only the options that they provide there, even if it’s a set. Be open-minded, think on your feet, and be creative. Other stores often have things that pair better with the look you are going for. Of course, we didn’t spend several days collecting our decorations, we managed to do this in one day. However, take your time and plan ahead instead of rushing in a two-hour span.
