How to Redecorate for the Fall

Everyone gets excited about fall, as the cooler season rolls in warm toasty foods, cozy knit sweaters, and hot drinks. Every Autumn, you can redecorate your home for a fall look and add beautiful new tones to transition into the next season. Many people decorate with pumpkins and lanterns, but you can take it a step further and surprise your guests with something more creative.

Fall Colors

The colors you are aiming for are bright and burnt orange, dark red, bright yellow, and any shade of brown. This reflects the colors of fall leaves that fall to the ground, as they can be shades of burgundy, sunflower yellow, and khaki brown. Even if you don’t live where you experience a change in season, you can still make your home fall-ready and have fun redecorating for the Autumn.

Centerpieces

Among colorful pumpkins, you can also decorate with picture frames, throw pillows, vases stuffed with orange and yellow flowers, and more. Try getting, or making your own, wreath speckled with fall-colored leaves. You can start with a dark evergreen colored base, and add shades of orange and red leaves to the wreath. The rustic look is very popular for the fall, such as rustic wood, farmers’ tin vases, and old-school lanterns. Candles surrounded by green leaves and red or orange berries can make a room look cheerful and warm.

Furniture Accessories

You can incorporate pillows that have fall-time slogans, such as “hello pumpkin”, as a cute addition to your living room, workspace, or family room. Another idea is to place chunky knit blankets on your largest chairs. This way, during the cool season you or your family can cuddle together and stay warm. Change your drapes to pale cream, orange, or burnt gold-yellow to match it with your other accessories. If your couches don’t match any fall tones, you can purchase neutral couch covers to make them easier to match with your new decorations.
