Fun Family Friendly Drinks for Labor Day BBQ

When it’s getting close to that time for another family holiday, you have to get creative to entertain your guests. Delicious and yummy drinks are a great pair for tasty foods, but most families only prepare soda, lemonades, and sweet tea. If you want to add a splash of color to your BBQ, try these fun family drinks that are quite addictive. 

Virgin Cranberry Basil Sangria 

This very flavorful tea is fun to create, using fresh fruits and herbs. You will need lemon-lime seltzer, cranberry juice, and orange juice as the base. The fruits you will need are chopped apples, oranges, and strawberries. You will need fresh cranberries and basil leaves. Add the base juices to a large container, the add the freshly diced fruits. Put basil in at the end and let the drink sit for 30 minutes so that the flavors seep in. Chill it inside the fridge. 

Thai Iced Tea

For a vibrant twist on iced tea, Thai Iced Tea or Cha Yen is an American-Asian fusion creation. You must purchase Thai tea, and make hot tea like you typically would. If it is loose leaf tea you must strain the tea leaves. Add as much sugar as you like. Let the tea chill in the fridge and serve over ice. Next, choose to either coconut, sweet condensed, or evaporated milk and add 2 tablespoons per served glas.  

Frozen Hot Chocolate

This delightful and easy to create drink is fun for all ages. You can use milk, coconut milk, or oat milk as the base. Place the milk, your favorite hot cocoa powder, and ice in a blender. Let the mixture blend until is is almost completely smooth. Then pour it into a glass. Add chocolate curls and whipped cream on top to decorate. 

Popsicle Punch

This punch uses popsicles as ice cubes, and combines strawberry and mango flavors. You will need to use lemon-lime soda, seltzer, and lemonade as the base. You can used sliced strawberries and cubed mangoes as garnish. Then, you will need both strawberry and mango popsicles. Combine these ingredients together, and when serving the drink add a strawberry or mango fruit ice-pop to each glass.
